Mission Area Assessment Analyst (NE11-02)
Description
Conduct operational and strategic analysis in support of USSTRATCOM's mission areas, plans, and operations. Research and utilize intelligence analytic products, employ decision and deterrence analysis and planning tools, and assist in the research of new concepts and the development of new methodologies for assessments and analysis. Duties include: develop and refine assessment methods, refine mission area concepts, study future concepts, and identify, collect and evaluate analytical lessons learned in the course of assessment activities. The analyst will: research and apply new methodologies to improve mission area analysis; research models and processes to improve assessment effectiveness; research and apply new ways of presenting uncertainties and risk to planners and decision makers; investigate quantitative and/or non-quantitative approaches and understanding measures of performance/effectiveness; document research and findings in reports and briefings and make presentations of analytic results to senior decision makers as required; support the development of automated tools that implement chosen techniques; collaborate with Combatant Command planners and experts in the intelligence community, academia, and research institutes; support real-world and exercise planning and execution.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (political science, international relations, intelligence analysis, or other) desired. For mid level: Bachelor's degree (political science, international relations, intelligence analysis, or other) required.
Qualifications
5 years assessment/analytical experience with experience in at least one of STRATCOM’s three lines of operation (strategic deterrence, cyberspace, space) or enabling missions such as IMD, ISR, counter-WMD, IO/EW, etc. Demonstrated ability to research and formulate the results of complex, multidisciplinary analyses into clear, concise, and actionable findings and recommendations. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing). Proven experience in developing PowerPoint presentations; background, information and decision papers. Experience in researching material; formulating recommendations and presenting results to senior decision makers. Joint Specialty Officer (JSO) certification desired. 5 or more years experience designing and framing complex issues including context mapping. SAMS/SAAS/JAWS graduate highly desired. Familiarity with Joint processes, operations, and commands; familiarity with end-to-end operations and processes from National level through Unit execution. Ability to think broadly, to strike a balance between traditional and non¬traditional thinking, and to see the interrelationships between domain of expertise and other domains. Critical thinking skills (quantitative and qualitative), and ability to prepare a well-grounded, defensible argument. Ability to work well with other organizations and personnel with disparate backgrounds.

Must be US Government Security Clearance Eligible. Flexibility for travel.
Desired
Experience in supporting USSTRATCOM in the area of assessments, analysis, planning, programming or operations.
