Overlook Systems Technologies, Inc. Joins The Institute of Navigation and the Air Force Research Lab to Sponsor the 2009 Mini-Urban Challenge

Vienna, VA – Douglas S. Taggart, President of Overlook Systems Technologies, Inc. of Vienna, Virginia, has announced that Overlook will join The Institute of Navigation (ION) and the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in sponsoring the 2009 Mini-Urban Challenge.  The purpose of this competition is to challenge high school students to design and operate a robotic unmanned car built from a LEGO® MINDSTORMS® kit that can accurately navigate through a LEGO® city.  Taggart states, “Finding opportunities to help this nation’s young people become interested in the sciences and engineering is important, and Overlook is pleased to help in any way it can as a sponsor of this competition.”

Regional Competitions will be held in May 2009 at the following locations:
· Ohio Competition:  Wright Patterson AFB
· Florida Competition:  Eglin AFB

The top winners from each Regional Competition will be invited to compete in the National Competition.  The National Competition will be held in conjunction with the Sixth Annual ION Robotic Lawn Mower Competition in Dayton, OH (June 11-13, 2009).
